Set in the grounds of the owner’s 15th century yeoman’s timber hall house, Spinster’s Nook offers luxurious studio accommodation which has been ingeniously designed and sympathetically modernised.  The parquet flooring has been up-cycled from The Cloth Hall and now encases the underfloor heating, there is a modern kitchen with cast concrete worktops and a state of the art wet room and to complete the picture, a sumptuous king size bed where you can snuggle up and watch the TV.  Outside there is a courtyard garden with beech hedge screening and garden furniture and in addition there is a communal fire pit which can be used for barbecuing.  If you are thinking of bringing your doggie, then you should, as there is even a warm outside tap for rinsing off muddy paws. The owners offer use of their heated swimming pool and there is a shared games room and a small gym just in case the sun doesn’t shine all day!  Guests can wander through the extensive gardens and pick-their-own seasonal veggies from the veggie patch. This cottage can be booked in conjunction with Weavers Cottage which sleeps 2 and is located next door.

This cottage is all on one level
Entrance into open plan living area with parquet flooring and underfloor heating throughout the property
Living Area: has a two seater sofa, coffee table, wall-mounted Smart TV, drop-leaf dining table with architecturally constructed stools which can be tucked out of the way
Kitchen Area: flagstone flooring and a fitted kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, Nespresso machine with pods. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the pool house.
Bedroom Area: king-size bed with side tables and lighting, an open-fronted wardrobe with hanging rail and shelves, an armchair
Wet Room: with limestone flooring, tiled shower area with hand-held attachment, washbasin, w.c.

Garden: Beech hedge enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and fire pit. Use of shared seating area around a communal cooking fire pit.  There is use, by arrangement, of the owners’ pool (heated May to September and the general rule of use is guests from 9a.m until 2 p.m. weekdays and 9.am until 1.p.m. on weekends) and a games room above the garage with a pool table. Guests also have access to a shared gym which includes a treadmill, Smith’s machine, Power Tec weights machine, Perfect Situp abs machine

Notes: unlimited WiFi, with up to 70mb. Unfenced pond nearby with ducks and 1 goose. The owner has 2 small dogs. Not suitable for children under 12 but babes in arms welcome, please bring your own travel cot.

Out and About:
Smarden is a small picturesque village with 3 pubs, butchers and vintage shop and art gallery.  Local shopping can be done in Headcorn which is 3.5 miles away and there is also a mainline station there.  Close by you can explore Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, Leeds Castle and Bodiam Castle.  There is a golf club at Chart Hills and fishing lakes at Cackle Hill.  Historic Rye is 19 miles away, Camber Sands is just a few miles further along the coast.  The Kent and East Sussex Railway is in Tenterden, which is known as the Jewel in the Weald locally, with lots of independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs.  There are vineyard tours and tastings at Chapel Down in Small Hythe and Hush Heath in Staplehurst.
